• first day of classes. the morning class is made up of 9 people. four people, including me, from my program, four eastern european guys (one is a catholic preist wat), and a swedish dude. three of them are about 15 years old but the rest are as old or older than me. it's an interesting mix of cultures. we all have the same amount of german in common, and they all know at least some english. apparently in the higher level all they have is deutsch. weird.
• ate at a nice bio-cafe with some people, learned rotem curry = red = hot (but bearable!)
• bought some watercolor paper from the art store, conveniently located two blocks away form the dorm
• bought some groceries
- in europe, you have to pay if you want a cart
- they also don't do grocery bags! awkward.
- alkohol ist SEHR BILLIG!
- brie ist auch billig.
• pooped around. painted.
• went to the 6:00 evening class. this one is more about speaking practice so it was more relaxed, although it stressed me out more because talking is hard. about the same number of students here, which i think is super great for learning a language and i wish VCU had this luxury.
• U-bahned home, pooped around, did homework.
• went out for a little 4th of july celebrating with some new friends from the program. interesting times.
tell me about interesting 4th of july tiems!!!!! a private message ~ ;) ~ ;) would be fine.
